LATEST UPDATE (JANUARY 31). On January 27th, the U.S. Supreme Court removed the nationwide temporary injunction that had prevented the final public charge rule from taking effect. The Department of Homeland Security announced that the rule will go into effect on February 24th in every state except Illinois, where it is blocked by a statewide injunction. Litigation is ongoing.
